Edit main menu using Pinnacle 9

Hey I just finished making a simple photo montage for a friend and everything is done and looks great except for the main menu. I don't know how to set it up so that you can switch back and forth (example: "next", or "back"). It doesnt highlight anything when i put it in the dvd player and try to highlight something. It only wants to play each chapter from begin to end. I only have to seperate chapters (childhood photo slideshow and an engagement photo section but I still want them to be able to be played seperately. How do I set it up so that it can do that. My husband pushed "2" on the remote and that worked but I still want to be able to pushed the back and forward buttons and have that work...like on normal dvds.
I hope that made some kind of sense.
Please help!
