    asf file wil not index

    I have a asf file that I got from my wmr 9 recorder.I can't seek on it and I went to index it on windows media encoder and It will not let me.I have also tried a couple of asf file fixers and they didn't help.I can watch the asf files I just can't seek or convert them to anything else.What is the promblem with the file.
