Vegas 4.0 Timeline

Hello all! I have what I hope is not the dumbest question and need help. There is supposed to be a way to delete time in the timeline in Vegas Video 4.0. I have tried to insert time with a "-" as was advised to me. However this does not work. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to accomplish this?

I'm not sure to understand you completely. Do you mean Insert time or Insert silence at the beginning or somewhere in the clip? If it's what you want, in Sony Vegas 6.0 (I don't remember for sure where in Sony Vegas 4.0) just go to Insert, select Time, enter the amount of time you want to insert, and then click OK

Thanks, but preferably what would like to do is this....if I have many regions that need to be moved I was told that I could do the insert time with a "-" where I want the time removed, and it would automatically remove the empty space so that I don't have to individually select each region and move them. Is there a way to do this?
