I guess we all must now put our old Dvd's out to pasture
Looks like I won't have to worry about it either, until they become affordable! I imagine the "poor old" dvds will hang in there for a while. After all there are still VHS players/recorders and tapes still out there!

I'll stick with DVD, too and my "screen" is more than 3 metres wide. I'm not at all sure this is going to take off like DVD did - I suspect the quality improvement will just not be appreciated as much by the average consumer.

i don't particularly like any of the next gen formats, if i had to pick one it'd be HD DVD. won't be upgrading for some time though, not till a clear winner emerges and till everything calms down (a lot) wrt price.
already got about 15 HD movies in my collection though
