Hey all. I found some old files on my computer that are in the MPEG format. Is there any way at all I can convert these or somehow write them to a DVD so that I can watch them in my player? Thanks!
a thousand ways, mediacoder, super, TMPGEnc just a few.

lol, if teadogg wants to use nero, it's his decision
(although i don't like it either, FOR ENCODING)

i'd be using TMPGEnc myself (yeah big suprise) but most people frown at payware.

I use Nero vision very regular, very fast with dual core and very easy to use, but how do I know about decoding compare to you two , actually that are all I know with decoding
Thanks guys! I ended up downloading mediacoder but do you have any reccommendations on what I should burn with? I guess the program just prepared the files for the disc and such.

Thanks for all the help. I am getting ready to burn things and had a few more questionzs. If I want to merge two of the MPEGs so that they run continuously, is there a way to do that? As you can see MPEGs are not my expertice. Also, maybe this is way out there, but is there a way to make a title screen that fades in and out before my clips show??
either case i suggest TMPGEnc free for mpeg1, TMPGEnc dvd author for the seamless join and menu creation if mpeg-2

I merged the files using the TMPGEnc free program (They were originally MPEG1). Would you suggest converting into MPEG 2 and taking it over to the DVD author program?
well if you want it on dvd yes, UNLESS the frame rate on those files are 29.97 fps. are they?
keep in mind, to convert to dvd you need the full version of TMPGEnc, which will cost you some dough. that's why i asked the framerate, there is another solution i have if you are low on coin
