    Sony DCR-SC100

I need to find a Sony DCR-SC100 camcorder. Sony can not fix mine.
Does anyone know where I can buy a new or used one?

Welcome to the Forum. It sounds like you want to fix yours so here's a couple of links about batteries & accessories. If they don't work out try Google or even e-bay or places like that.

What URL are you going to that says Sony cant repair that camera?

Try this one and click "repair/service" at the upper right corner of the page, then enter the model number and other info in the fields on the 2nd page that comes up. Then another page comes up, click the "request repair" button and wala, fill out the online service repair form, click submit, and another page will come up with instructions and where to ship your unit to be repaired. A work reference number will be given as well as an email confirmation for the service request, so make sure you give a valid email address.

Sony can either repair that camera or exchange it with another one. If it is out of warranty, Sony has a flat rate repair charge to fix out of warranty items.

Sony had my camcorder at their repair facility for a month. They tried to fix it and couldn't get the part from Japan. They said the parts are not made anymore and are no longer available.

Unusual, but not unexpected. Their next step would be to offer an exchange for an identical unit or a comparable one under their flat rate exchange program. If however they do not have any exchange units available, often Sony will go one step further.....if you complain enough...and offer you a new replacement camera at a reduced price to replace the bad one.

NOTE: Keep in mind now, that if you go out and buy one of these SC-100's on ebay or even find a new one sitting on a shelf somewhere or on ebay, that it will not be able to be repaired or replaced either if it develops or has a problem right out of the box. It might be more economical and less frustrating to simply start considering replacing that camera with a newer one that can be serviced if necessary. Save alot of time and trouble believe me.
