    No sound

    I have a problem with a divx movie. There is no sound. V-dub views the following info about the sound..

    Sampling rate: 48000 Hz
    Channels: 2 (stereo)
    Sample precision: 0-bit
    Compression: Unknown (tag 2000)
    Preload skew: 12000 samples (0.25 s)
    # of frames: 89691
    Min/avg/max/total frame size: 6/1001/12000 (87686K)

    Is there something I could do to fix it or is the file corrupted?

    I have the exact same problem.
    Same info, ...

    I tried every code found here, nothing works.
    The file I am trying to open is named
    TNG.S01E22-MDX.avi

    downloaded from an ftp, it was in a folder named
    StarTrek.TNG.S01E22.PROPER.AC3.DVDRip.DivX-MDX

    does that mdx mean something?

    Again; the movie plays fine in almost every app. but no sound and that, people, is one frustrating problem.

    Nosing around for codec I stumbled across so much new info that new questions pop up in my mind;
    _ Could it be that I need Media Player 6.4 in stead of 7?
    _ Coud it be played with some dvd software (the only thing I did not try)

    thanks

    One other thing;
    I downloaded about 25 movies in this format, and all of them have no sound, I'm not planning to throw away all those Gigabytes. There just has to be a solution.
    Anyone?

    Again thanks

      no, its the ac3 in the name that s for the audio codec

      get some ac3 filter (if u cant find the simple codec, install it with nimo codec package or tsunami 's)

      be aware: if u installed divx5 the new divx playa doesnt support ac3 sound (but others still do)
      The Grandadmiral was here!

          thanks,

          Before I saw there was a reply on my question;
          I JUST FOUND OUT HOW;

          tsunami and all other where allready installed, in fact I am installing all kinds of things for about 4 hours straight now. Searching and installing, forums, google, ......... NOTHING works,

          there was 1 file I could not download (audiofilters.zip), now that I could, I ran the .bat file and voila there is the sound.

          I hate asking for help, I only ask for it after searching for hours. I wish I did not asked it now since I found the solution.

          I must admit; it could be a combination of things I installed, but the audiofilters with the bat file in it did the trick.

            Weird that the Tsunami filter pack 3.8.9 did not work for me then, but again, it could be a combination of things I installed.
