    Joining Divx Trailer

    Hi Volx!

I did my first DVD rips and created a nice Trailer (ripped by...).
The problem is, i can´t find a way to Join it With the Movies.
I use VirtualDub to convert the Trailer to the correct settings

For Video: Codec <DIVX 4.01>, Solution, Framerate
For Audio: Codec <Radium MP3>, Khz, Kbit

After Comparing the settings in the Information Window from VirtualDub
(the settings are similar)I tried to drag them together but get always the message "Video streams don´t match".

    WHY ?

Is there something that I forget ?
any other Video or Audio settings to do ?
Wich Video/ Audio Codec is temporarly the best ?

The Informationwindow tells me that these settings are identical.

Had the same Problem sometimes. Some possible solutions:

          - fps are not EXACTLY the same. If the differ only by 0.001 fps the streams wont match.
          - maybe you installed and used different sound-codecs. I.e. sometimes you have more than one mp3-codec installed and they don't exactly produce the same output (Joint-stereo, VBR).

I think with the Sound stream is everything alright,
i get only a error message that tell the Video don´t match.

But how can i check the frame differ if it´s only by 0.001 fps ?

Maybe i recompress the mainmovie, but then i loss quality again. right ?

VD should show the exact fps. Sometimes VD tells that the video-format dosn't match even if only the sund is not the same format.

yes I had the problem with The Sound before, but was no problem to
convert it from 44.1Khz to 48Khz.

                I´m running out of Ideas

Question : Do i lose much of the quallity from the movie if I recompress it
aggain with nearly the same settings ?

If U recompress a Movie, i think you have to do it with higher settings,
because then it takes all what´s there, right ?

                  Example:

I compressed a movie the first time with 800 kbps, after editing
i recompressed it with 1600kbps and the file size at the end was
                  only a little bit bigger

Do somebody got more expirience with recommpresing ?
