    .mkv subtitle removal?

    Hey all,
Let me start by saying that if this thread belongs somewhere else, MODs, by all means, move it. I didn't know where it fit so I'm posting here.

I've got several anime files in .mkv format.
The audio is in english but so are the subtitles.
Is there any way I can remove the subtitles while keeping the english audio intact?

I'm still somewhat of a newb so go easy on me, please...

I haven't done this myself yet but I think that these tools will help you for that. You can use MKVToolNix and MKVExtractGUI to extract audio, video, and subtitles apart and then use MKVMerge to mux video and audio together only

    Regards

      Thanks!

I'll give a shot, with the apps you've suggested, and let you know how it goes...

You don't need to use mkvextract. mkvmerge/mmg handle mkv as input just fine. Think you will also find that there is a Japanese audio stream to go with the English subs.
