PowerDirector DV preview black

I am using PowerDirector 5. When in the capture mode, the preview window is blank when using my Sony DV camcorder. It records and video is fine after capture. But it does not show on the preview as it records. I tried latest patch, but then the Sony isn't recognized at all.
