you will have to convert the mp3 to wav and then burn the wav as audio cd

most bruning tools (like e.g. nero) will do this conversion automatically for you when starting a new audio cd and adding your mp3 to the list

of course you can do the conversion from mp3=> wav on your own before using the burn-engine with e.g. besweet or even winamp

so do i just click on the option to make an audio cd ?
Yep, that's how it is done.
and whats the best burning speed for cd's ?.
I have personally been burning at 1/2 the rated speed of the disc, & it works well for me. I usually settle in at around 24x.

Also, depending on the "source" of the mp3 files, the levels may not all be the same, & can become annoying when playing; there are normalizing settings in Nero that will bring all the levels to the same volume; I like to use a standalone editing program, such as Goldwave or Audacity to do more detailed editing, such as normalizing, trim ends, batch encoding, & so on.

            Have fun!

            regards, katz

@a2j3 - nice link! http://www.dirfile.com/freeware/audio-converter.htm lots of neat looking programs on there. Just when I am happy using one, 10 more interesting ones come along!

Naw, its' a piece of cake! BTW, you already know this, but be sure to use good media! I was turned on to TY for DVD's & now I use TY for CDs also. No coasters yet!

Used to use Maxell & Memorex discs, drawing on the experience I had with cassette tapes of those brands, but turned out a lot of junk when using the same brands w/ DVD & CDs. Amazing what a person can learn on here

Wow, that's strange since I just made a CD from my library of MP3s??
I'll have to see if it converts as it getting ready to burn to disc.

I use MusicMatch Plus, not freeware but very cheap and worth the price.

ANY audio source is directly converted to MP3 format and then burned to a CD-R audio disk, can be played on any CD changer or in the automobile CD changer.

Works great from the stereo radio, and there are freeware editing programs for the MP3 format like MP3 DIRECT CUT to edit the MP3 like you wish.

Yep, I just burned another CD from MP3s using Windows Media Player, It just converts the MP3s to CD audio and burns to disc all in one continuous step.
