My wife uses Nero Burning ROM all the time for this, burns at the max the disc is rated for & they even play in PS2 no problem. Use MP3Gain & AACGain to normalize.

With MP3 & AAC you can normalize either one file or your whole music folder at one time. We have our whole music folder normalized & as we add we normalize before it gets added to that folder.

Soup, do you normalize the file by itself before you put it in the normalized folder with the other songs? If so, how does that file have another "normalized" file to compare levels to when doing the process?

I have found that if I do it that way, the levels can be off. I ended up normalizing "new" files along with a few that were already normalized, so they would all be comparable in volume levels.

MP3 has a default volume setting that we use. They are all not going to be exact but they are pretty damn close. Anonymez put me on to it.

mp3gain/replaygain is lossless and quicker than other methods that require re-encoding (though won't matter as much in this case since they're going on an audio cd)
