    Problem with Ulead Video Studio

I got a problem with Ulead Video Studio, both version 7 and 10 installed, but can not start any: Get a runtime-error in vstudio.dat... anyone come across this?

Thanks for any hint! Alternatively, who would know a good software to edit MPG4 (my Sanyo Video Cam (Xcati) stores only that format)...

First off, you shouldn't be able to have two versions installed.

    Uninstall both and reinstall 10.

And all I know how to do is convert MP4 into AVI for editing.

Great tip ... sure have tried that, reinstallation does still return runtime error with vstudio.dat ... anyone else a bit more useful than this one?

What Drfsupercentre said is correct. It reminds me of something I found out a couple of years ago. Never install two Firewalls, Anti-Virus programs or burning software. I made that mistake one time and I had Nero and Roxio installed together and they both locked each other like the problem you had with Ulead Video Studio 7 and 10. Back then I got rid of Nero and Roxio and re-installed Nero. One time I had Norton Anti-Virus and AVG and Norton messed up AVG where I wasn't getting virus alerts when I had the misfortune of going on an infected web site. One time a scan detected five viruses and I never got the virus alerts earlier some time while surfing the web. I got rid of Norton, re-installed AVG and AVG worked fine and it still does. Sorry to babble.

        Darren.

here's a tip. don't be rude to other members! everyone has their own skill level and you are getting free advice from people trying to help you that get NOTHING in return.
