Is there any way (software or hardware) I can make the Axion 3.5inch dvd player play in normal (4:3) rather than widescreen mode? Similarly, if I use it as a monitor with the video in, can I somehow view the monitored picture in normal (4:3) rather than widescreen? Axion said no, but I am wondering...

If the monitor has within its setup menu functions to select between 4:3 and 16:9, it should. But if Axion says there is no function to change the aspect ratio, I would say that the monitor in question is a 16:9 only monitor. Weird that it does not give the option to change it.
But it is just the first of many that will soon eliminate the 4:3 option all together. The intent to go from low resolution viewing to high definition is to get away from the 4:3 square screen to the 16:9 wide screen. The days of 4:3 are going to be history very quickly. Though some folks do not like the 16:9 wide screen, the change is inevitable. I would begin to get used to the wide format.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunatley, the problem is that a lot of DVDs I want to review on this Axion were not done in widescreen, and the video I want to monitor on it in real-time will not bein wides creen, so the picture is not usefult for evaluaitonComment
