how to playback video files from pc to tv?

how can i display video files on my telivison from my pc? nothing fancy just basic will do.

depending on what your display and graphics card supports, s-video, vga/d-sub, dvi or hdmi connections

The easiest way is if you have a video card with TVout (S-video out) and have a TV with an S-video in port.
Otherwise you can get a multi-port thing at Walmart that lets you connect almost anything to anything.
