    DV and audio capture

    Hi all,
I would like to capture DV Video (from a canopus box) AND simultaneously
2 CH audio from a a DAT. Is there an application which could do this simultaneously in one step?
I think I need some kind of multitrack audio and video editing app.. Any idea on the cheaper side? thanks!!

    Howdy!

You can feed a capture card with different sources at the same time, ie one video source and fed with a seperate audio source while the card captures.

I think your problem will be is syncronizing the DAT audio to the video while the capture takes place. If the equipment had "time code" or "gen-lock" that would sync the two pieces of equipment, it would not be a problem at all.

Yes you might have to capture the video first onto a seperate file, then capture the DAT audio onto another, then use some video/audio editing program to match the two files up to create one file.

    Good luck!

    Here..I will fix it!
