The labels that I use and have had NO problems for 5 years are:

Fellowes CD Labels in the 100 matte labels pack.

The custom built movie label is put on and stored upright in a standard size CD case stored in approximately 70 degree temperature.

Funny, every couple of months or so this issue pops up. I remember when I used to repair cassette decks, and VCR's. A lot of the times the labels would peel up and gum up the works. I use Sharpies. I am lazy though, labels seem like a lot of work. I am not too conscious about how the DVD's look because they are for loaning or playing to preserve the originals.
