    Help with Media Player

I am looking for a do it all media player, well for my needs. I do not need something that technical since I only watch DVDS, but use Power DVD for that. I also listen to audio and would like it to play Divx, MP4, and I also stream off the net certain audio files and would like it to play that. Before I used winamp for the audio which I really liked but I wasn’t able to use it for any of the other things my first question is can winamp play these files?
I recently have been trying VLC which I like since its ability to play almost anything but when I play audio files on the player the bass seems to crank up and sound distorted unlike other player. I have tried messing around with all of the equalizers and options to no avail and since I listen to audio files the most it’s a big problem, is there a way this can be fixed?
Lastly, if none of the above option are viable is there another player I could try that can handle all of these formats with relatively ease? I also tried Media classic which I didn’t like.
    Thanks for your help, Z

I have tried that as well and didn't like how the playlist was set up. I would actually like to fix either VLC or winamp. Maybe I can't though.

IIRC there is an mplayer plugin for winamp. wouldn't bother though, winamp is terrible for video, they should stick to what they know.

but when I play audio files on the player the bass seems to crank up and sound distorted unlike other player

Its just a regular mp3 format song, I have tried messing with the outputs but nothing seems to work. I guess I will just keep trying.

Whoops, what I meant to say was that I have tried Windows Media Player, and Media Player Classic. It just turned out wrong, my fault.
