Only as good as the Media you use

Hi everyone , I`ve got a question and it`s not a new one: which DVD media can be considered the best, and by that I also mean reliable ? I record a lot with varying results. A great singer always sound rubbish thru a **** micro so I want to get the best possible quality from my efforts, having used
"no-name discs" before, not always but often with bad results - crummy sound and picture - drop out - and even sometimes not even recording, when it said it did etc.....
Actually, it was my sister who asked me and I didn`t know. Maybe you do.
I`m sure you can buy good quality anywhere.
    Thanks

DVD quality can vary from batch to batch. Brand name media also comes from different providers and can be seen by the different MIDS.

And it also comes down to the burner/firmware/media combo even with the best of media. Some burner/firmware combos like some media better than others so a user with brand X burner can get results that are not as good as a user with brand Y burner.
