Subtitles with SSA

I want to create my own subtitles on movies without subtitles. I have downloaded Sub-Station Alpha and the VirtualDub plugin. How do i use SSA? I want to write down all the dialog from the movies (a LOT of work, i know) and sync it with the audio. Is there an easily understandable tutorial on how to do this somewhere?

where did you dowloaded the virtual dub plug in and what is the name of that plug in thankx!!

www.virtualdub.org would be the right place to get the subtitler filter for virtualdub
