TV broadcast exclusively in digital format 2009
The digital transition date is February 17, 2009 for all United States broadcast television stations to broadcast exclusively in a digital format.
I have a question regarding this. Is this going to make "cable ready" tv's and other electronic products obsolete? Right now I have a DVR which I have set to record different channels at different times. Will I be required to use a "converter" box supplied by the cable company to watch tv after this? Doing that you wouldn't be able to watch something else while you record (on the dvr) and would make picture in picture impossible. Anyone have the skinny on how this would work?
