vcd back to .mpg

Is it possible to convert a vcd movie back to .mpg ??
When u burn to vcd the movie gets the ending .dat
and is a litter bigger in size (mb). Is there a tool for soing this???

yes, ive heard of a dat truncator that converts them back to mpeg. look around in the software section of this site, or check dvd.box.sk

Visit vcdhelp.com for detailed information. Alternatively, just try to rename the .dat extension .mpg...it might work

Use TMPGEnc as follows:

File>>MPEGTools>>Merge&Cut

Load you .DAT file into the Merge&Cut window

Set the mode to "plain vanilla" MPEG1 (NOT MPEG1-VideoCD)

Enter a new name (with an extender of ".MPG") in the output box

Press the "Run" radio button

not to ever disagree with setarip but...you can also use vcd gear gui.
