AVI video strange problem

Just a strange problem with a few AVI videos i have.
playing using MediaPlayer 7.0 (win2000 OS) i get sound but the no picture just a gray box where the movie should be.
Other AVI file from same source has no problem.
I have installed / reinstalled many codecs, including:
MPEG-4, DivX.
Any ideas?

In order to determine which codec(s) you need for a particular .AVI, you should do the following:

1) Load the file into VirtualDub

2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (both video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box

Just a personal opinion. Media player 7 bites the big one. Media player 6.4 works great
