However it does see cd's. Thought it was the dvd burner, so I purchased a new different brand (NEC), and it did the same thing in both computers. I'm thinking that it is some xp setting that I have It previously worked in PIO mode only. DMA would freeze the computer, until I took the dvd out. Now PIO doesn't work at all.
