    DVD Storage

    Hi all,

I wondering how ppl store all of their dvd's ?

At the mo, mine are stored in the spindle/case's which the blank dvd's came from. I've seen a DVD storage album which fits 200 and is $12 from Big W - its one of those which zips open, then there are individual pouches for the DVD's. Anyone seen this and opinions ?

I don't have much room for storing them and budget is also a concern. I wouldn't find putting them in individual cases and printing up covers (although don't have right printer - does officeworks do this ? ?)

    cheers

    sera.

    Hi sera,

Check this thread out; I was just getting ready to update it. After considering several options, I decided to go with single & dual dvd cases, same size as the originals & then print an insert to slide in the clear plastic case cover.

I store them all on a bookcase(s) with the backup disc next to the original. Neat & easy, nice system to easily locate a title, archived in alphabetical order.

I do basically the same as katz, but if you are tight for space it won't be so good.

      @sera

I must be having Deja Vu of my own after watching the movie the other day, something about your signature looks familiar.

The large cd/dvd wallets are OK, you just have to be very careful inserting and removing the disks. Very portable is the big advantage. The spindle is probably the most compact option but digging a disk off the bottom is impractical. Paper sleeves have a lot of advantages but someone needs to
invent/market a plastic shoe box for them.

I have a large case like a book that holds about 200 disks. Its split in half so I put the grownup movies on one side and the kid movies on the other.

                Actually,
they make a 5mm dvd super slim plastic case which does away with the side pieces.
you can get them on ebay cheap..

I have 400 backups and keep them in a deep drawer..

I used "Half size" DVD case the size of a CD jewel case. You can get it double CD too and print the DVD labels using word with to the exact dimension that fit the case 13.5 cm x 25cm. See it here http://www.dvdshoponline.co.uk/info_1_1816.html only 12p each here in UK.

I have a lot of backups, so making plastic cases, finding big storage booklets, even using jewel cases is impractical. So I use paper sleeves. I do have printable dvd+r's so at least they have some character.

I am making mine looks a mini original bundle, well, got all the time in the world doing them being a retiree. All the original labels also in to the half size DVD case looks original. Its good for other users not familiar with the film as they can still read synopsis on the back and the bits and pieces. I got Canon printer and using cheap compatible inks. looks good rather than just in a paper sleeve.
