    Firefox and GIFs

This just aides to my "IE is better than Firefox" opinion...
I am using Portable Firefox to get to DVF from school (because they block both the digital-digest domains, and admin gave me one with an IP that works. Seeing as how I am lazy, I just bookmarked it on my flash drive and I can get to it)

All the GIFs here, including smileys and people's avatars, are played like 500% their real speed, it has done this on my household Firefox as well. Any idea why?

I wouldn't bash FF so quick, been using it for years and never encountered such a thing. I'm sure others have though, like anything it depends where and how you use it IMO.

Both instances I have used Firefox with this site, both at home, and at school, the GIF images are played back too fast.

If it's not the browser, what is it (they work fine with IE here)

I don't think it's coincidence that two different versions of Firefox (I have 1.5 at home and 2.0 here) would have the same problem...

You sure you're not just used to the extreme-speed GIFs?

Just tried in IE, look the same. Is there something on both instances that could be causing this on your end?

I looked around on Google and it appears this is ongoing. To some, GIF's may seem fast with FF, while Opera and IE may appear too slow.
But these are frames rates and were talking 1/10th of a second or less.

I don't know what would cause it to be extremely fast though?? (As you said it seems 500% faster) Must look like chewy is doing speed curls on your FF, lol.

Also, have you tried the add-on Smiley Xtra for FF? If so are these super fast as well?

I haven't tried the add on thing.

But the DVF smiley with the smiley hitting the other one with a hammer looks like someone's trying to commit a massacre on my FF.

With all the knowledge on here, help could be on the way drf. I only read about your situation pre 1.0 release (long time ago )

Not a big deal, I use IE 90% of the time anyway.

Another problem Firefox has, look at those URLs (yes that is Firefox, I just disguised it as IE since we aren't supposed to use Firefox at school.)

Again, never seen such a thing. You said it's at school? What other junk is hidden on those computers at school?

It happens at my house too. I have different versions, so no idea.

Maybe Firefox heard you bad talking it, so it decided to self destruct.
