    suddenly xvid crashes in vdub?

An out-of-bounds memory access (access violation) occurred in module 'xvidcore'...
    ...reading address 0467B194...
    ...while running thread "Processing" (thread.cpp:151).

it used to work for a very long time until recently it just kept doing this whenever i save as xvid. i've tried reinstalling/uninstalling the xvid codec several times. tried different versions of vdub. only vdubmod works but i really prefer vdub. any ideas?

Is that the entire error message?

Could be a VFW decoder bug or bad source, make sure you have the latest Xvid. Otherwise just set libavcodec as the VFW decoder for DivX and Xvid in Start-->Programs-->ffdshow-->VFW config.

okay it's doing it again... fuk this pisses me right off.

An out-of-bounds memory access (access violation) occurred in module 'xvidcore'...
            ...writing address 05BEBCAC...
            ...while running thread "Processing" (thread.cpp:151).

i uninstalled xvid codec and ffdshow and just installed xvid on it's own. still DOES IT! tried like three different versions of xvid. the funny thing is it works fine in vdub mod but not vdub, why the hell is that? i tried two different vdub versions aswell. same ****.

The error message doesn't help all that much, so I'm making stabs in the dark. Does this happen with all files? Are you using any filters?

And keep the profanity to a minimum please.

yeah all videos. no filters. why would it only happen in vdub but not vdub mod?

Open the video in Virtualdub. Click File-->File Information, post all info.

You could try a System Restore.

why would it only happen in vdub but not vdub mod?
                  Don't know yet.

it's not just one video. it's all videos... and only when i compress with xvid in virtualdub.
