vdub cutting a vob but audio out of sync in .avi output file...

i got a vob file ... it's 1gb and i only want about 5 minutes of one part in it. but vdub seem to have trouble doing what i ask it to do. i cut the parts i dont want and then when i save it as xvid the audio is delayed. is there any programs that save cut the damn parts i dont want and save it as xvid or even just the same format (.vob) - even vdub doesn't let me save it as vob. gives me some stupid error. any ideas?
