    Converting .dv format

I have having one hell of a time to finding out how to do this.

I had a friend that took some action footage from his video camara and put it on his mac. When he gave it to me it was in .dv format. I own a Tobisha computer and the only program which will play it is Windows Movie Player. Nothing else even reckonizes the format. I am just looking for help to change the format from .dv to mpg or mpeg, just anything that can be read by standard programs

Download & install ffdshow, you should then be able to play it in Windows Media Player.
