    Login Times Out too fast?

I didn't see a forum about the board itself(or it may be a case of myopia)
so I'm posting the question here. Is there a real fast time-out when
posting here? Seems like every time I compose a post more that a few
lines with the little mini-text editor thingy, then go to preview it, I get
"you are not logged in" error message. This board looks like the same
framework as a lot of other forums(IOW, runs the same software) I use
but I don't get that anywhere else.

Just curious. I mean, not the end of the work to compose in EditPad Lite
then paste. It's just I keep forgetting to do that!!

Do you have the option "Remember Me" ticked in the login part?

Prolly not. I use Firefox so I only have to type the first letter to log in.
It just seems like I only get that error when using the posting editor
applet thingy. I guess I saw this here Rant section so I felt obligated to
      complain about something!!

Could perhaps also be something regarding the cookies. Try to loosen up the allowance of saving cookies.

Yes, use the remember login option which forces a cookie to be placed on your system - much more reliable than a session (server) based login, which could time out quickly depending on quite a few different reasons (too many users, server restarted, users sharing the same IP address ...)

FYI...the smiley is not a part of the password

I'll try ticking the Remember Me thingy. I have Firefox set to delete
cookies on closing so it should work. I got out of the habit of ticking
those boxes because my browser deletes the cookies anyway.

Damn!! Now I got to find somethin' else to bitch about!!

I try to keep mine easy to remember so I usually just use the same as my user name.

A friend of mine worked at a local government defense complexe, they were required to use "strong" passwords from a list and change them every month,
everyone had their password on a postit on their monitor.

Now that's top secret clearance and the government for you

LOL....I have two separate passwords for the various programs I use at work and I'm required to change them every 90 days. It gets hectic changing and remembering all those passwords. Since 911 the railroad is trying to get all 007 on all it's employees, shucks I even have two ID cards now too.

Doesn't it seem sometimes like the security measures are just strong enough
to keep out the legitimate users? Like the lock on the kitchen door. The
owner of the house is the only one who won't break the window to get in.
