    Benq1650

I just installed a Benq 1650, on the first burn, Imageburn informed me that "No writer detected". When using Nero to get disk info, it doesn't show a disk in the drive. Help!

Is your drive being recognized at all? ImgBurn should detect the drive when you first start it. You may have to select the BenQ if another drive is currently selected.

Did you set your jumpers properly when the drive was installed?

Can you send it back? I wouldn't look to find any more of these burners under the BenQ name anyway.

Sorry to hear that. This almost happened to another member several months ago, easy mistake if you only look at the model number. Hopefully you can return for a good burner.

BenQ 1650 is a DVD 'Burner'!! Not sure where you got the idea that it is a read only rom drive?? You must have a different model than a 1650 if thats the case'
