    big file

    ok i had like a 700 something .avi and i wanted to get it to mpeg so i went into tmpg and converted it to mpeg and it came out with a mpeg larger than a gig. last time i had an mp3 or something. I dont know what i did different. thanks in advace

    If the .AVI file was a DivX-compressed .AVI, there's nothing unusual about converting it to an MPEG1 file and yielding an MPEG1 file of approximately twice the size of the original .AVI...

    Your comment about "MP3" makes absolutely no sense...

      well how do i know if it avi compressed, i have ripped it about just the same way i ripped a different dvd (it was a half hour shorter but less the half the size) well im not sure about the mp3 comment either but i remember last time i ripped a dvd i had an mp3 and a video file and some tutorial made me put them together, well I guess it doesnt matter too much about that size i am still able to fit them on 2 disks... thanks
