I have broke my sony mini DV tape..(i need help..yes i am a girl.)

    I have broke my sony mini DV tape..(i need help..yes i am a girl.)

    Well during an arguement i broke the top off my mini DV tape and cut the tape. is there anyway i could open up the dv tape and make it work again!

    When you say you broke the top off you mean the cover that protects the tape? In theory it could be fixed but the video near the cut will probably be lost. It'd be a pain due to the small size of the miniDVDs and the tape locking mechanism. I can only suggest looking for a site that has pictures describing the process.

      Well, since you tend to be a bit "hot headed"

      I would suggest maybe taking it to a local Radio Shack or the like. There sould be someone on hand that could do a splice for you & also make sure it will play properly, since the housing is broken?

        I can only add that if you do try this yourself know that excess tape adhesive may transfer to the video heads and will cause viewing problems for any tape you play latter. I'd suggest transferring the video to another tape if you can and not try to keep playing the old one.
