admin/ hooking up 2 dvd players?

We have a Panasonic plasma that is hooked up to the cable box via HDMI .[only 1 available]
Our upconvert NeoNeu dvd player is hooked up via component. [2 available].

can a Toshiba PS 3 be hooked up to this tv in addition thru our remaing component input or do we need a HDMI converter.
    our tv is 1080i..
[I think we also have a 2nd audio digital /input/output in back of our Harmon-Kardon receiver to hook up to a 2nd device.]
    thank u..

Both a Toshiba HD DVD player and the Sony PS3 Blu-ray player will output through component at 1080i, so playback should be fine. However, HDMI would offer a better picture due to less noise and interference (unless you are using super expensive component cable). Both types of players will have optical output for the digital audio connection.

If the lack of HDMI input is your main problem, then it can be easily solved, as I have, by buying the Joytech TriLink HDMI switch, or a similar HDMI switch.

The alternative to a HDMI switch is to buy a HDMI AV receiver, the very best ones can also support the more advanced audio codecs found on Blu-ray/HD DVDs like DTS-MA and Dolby TrueHD, or at least accept the high bitrate PCM (uncompressed) 5.1 audio as outputted by the player. But this will cost a lot more than $39.99
