    Rule 19

I came to this site via DVDShrink they have a link there my question is as I am in Canada I thought it was perfectly legal to make a backup copy of ones owne disk/cd/tapes etc, so when I get a error code via shrink and it links to here surely they is a forum for situations such as I have so when I ask the question about cyclic error and get told to refer to rule 19 it means to me that this site cannot offer any advice even if its legal to backup your owne materials.

even if its legal to backup your owne materials.
what might be "legal" for you does not mean that the "tool" or it's "support" is legal, even in Canada.

you all might be "the land of the free"

It has been years since DVD Shrink's development ended, and at that time (when the links in the software and help file was last updated), it was permissable to post about DVD Shrink. Since then, a lot of things have happened, some I can talk about, some I cannot, and whatever the reason/legal basis, Rule 19 is now in place and as they say, "that's all folks".

Suffice to say that to keep this forum running means Rule 19 must exist as I'm bound to laws in which this forum is hosted and where I live (plus many other legal obligations), regardless of whether it's legal or illegal in your country to make backups or to talk about it unfortunately.
