My Son just brought home a new Toshiba plasma 1080P
couple days ago and had it set up perfect.
He popped in Spiderman 3 which was 1 of 5 new BluRay disc's that they were giving away with each TV purchase.
Btw: he paid 1780.00 for the whole deal plus got a deal on the mounting bracket for wall.
We had just finished watching the same movie last week on our Pansonic Plasma 42" 1080i tv.
Last weeks Spiderman Movie was played thru upscaled Helios player and disc was a backup. [How it got in our possesion we'll never know ya know?.].
Anyway,
to be honest, some scenes or frames looked a bit more colorfull like someones purple shirt..
some other frames or scenes look a bit shiny or sharpened but on the whole, nothing earth shattering.
My son has watched many a upscaled movie at our house and even admitted himself that it wasn't really any nite/day difference to him..
I think once you have been exposed to watching HD plasma or LCD in 1080i broadcast for past yr or so,
it's not going to knock you out as it would to someone who jumps from regular tv and then boom!
right into HD tv, BluRay, all at once.
I imagine that person gets to really expirience a big change.
For us,
it wasn't a big enough deal to dump our upscale player for a new BluRay..
I think 3D at home someday? if ever, is really going to click our switch.
btw: he did say though that video games,[ he has Xbox]
really looked brilliant.....that impressed him...
