Current Ratio Between Std Def And Hi Def

Just finished reading a very informative article on the potential future of Blu-ray hi def.

Current ratio of std DVD's numbers 90,000 to hi def blu-ray numbers 500 ish. in the market place currently.

With the forthcoming of the next generation of up-scale hi def DVD players (if you have a HDTV capable of 1080P) to be able to go from 480i to 1080P on your current std def DVD. It still is going to be cheaper to get the next generation of up-scale hi def DVD players.

Consider the cost of a Blu-ray reader/burner, software decrypt, software player, BD-R single layer and dual layer, BD-RE disks, still is going to be much cheaper going hi def with the next generation of hi def DVD player connected by HDMI to your HDTV.

Even if the cost of a Blu-ray player goes to under $200 by next year.

Sony needs to reconsider the cost of their hi def equipment, if they want to compete with the std def market.
