    corrupted vob

if a vob playes in my dvdplayer, but errors out and crashes flask does this mean there is something in the vob made to crash flask?
i'm assuming the vob is not corrupted if it plays normally in a dvd player. what could cause this. Is there a encoder that will work through or around this. I basically used the flask options to encode around the errored part of the vob, but this takes out a portion of the movie. to be specific monty python holy grail. the night's that say niph(or something like that). that entire portion is completely jacked. i had to cut out about 2 minutes of corrupted or bad data. this completely ****ed that entire scene. how can you repair vobs that show this?

if your vob plays fine, then something with your encoding routine must be to blame.

maybe xmpeg might be worth a try, since it is a flask derivate (which doesnt make it a good tool ) but at least it should have familiar routines and wont possibly fail.

my first choice, however, would be gordionknot 026beta with divx5. very reliable and fast transcoding combined with superb avi quality.

      gknot

i've used gknot before, but my work only allows the nt version of window media player 6 and due to the heat between windows and divx 3.11 this codec is not supported. i'm going to start using gknot for my home encodes soon. just started to play with it the last couple weeks. looks very promising, but limiting. I'm actually wanting to try to get a xvid + ogg mux. i believe that is the only way to go to max the video and to not use spyware.
