can't burn a dvd with any burning program

Hi, I Have burned lots of dvd's with nero 6 and Imgburn but now I can't burn a dvd, I can a burn a ISO file with a cd-r using nero burning rom or Imgburn,
it will play in my pc but not in my standalone dvd player, the media I'm using is Verbatim, I have the latest firmware for my samsung sh-183L burner I don't know if this is relevant but all my drives are sata drives hdd, dvd-rw, dvd-rom
I've been told I might have a dma problem but I thought if you have sata drives you can forget about dma, I don't know I'm just a novice

A burn log from either Nero or ImgBurn might help us help you.

For ImgBurn, if you go to Tools / Settings / File Locations, it will show you where the log is saved. When you find it, just copy & paste into a reply post here.

Oh dear, these again. Were the discs, by chance, Verbatims? Sounds like you're having the same issue I had recently. Try a different brand-look for some small packs of blanks on sale (Sony's preferably), and see if those will burn.
Hello all. I've had a run of bad luck over the past month when trying to burn with the HP DVD Writer 840b HI86 on my pc. I went through a 50 pack spindle of Verbatim discs, creating at least 20 coasters-the highest I've ever had from a single package. I chalked it up to a bum spindle, as I was also using Office Depot -RWs with

If it is a sata Burner in pio mode, how hard is that to fix?
Is uninstall for the sata the same as a ide burners?
Is there any danger of losing the hard drive when you uninstall a dvd burner.
Its just the dvd driver right? I need to get my drive out of pio mode.
