I need Help repairing my conversions

I like anime, and after certain conversions i get lines through the video in acitons scenes, or just any movement in a scene. I though i was supposed to do deinterlacing on it, but it makes it worse. i use two pass encoding with divx 4.12 can anyone help?

Please help if u can thanks.

    A pissed off anime fan.

What is your original source? An AVI file or DVD? And which deinterlacing filter did you use? The one built into 4.12 (No good) or Virtualdub one?

Original source is a dvd rip that i converted into an avi file. the deinterlacer i used was the one on XMpeg, and i tried the one on 4.12 they both suck. anyway how do i use virtual dub to fix the lines?

      Thank for your help

I don't know much about XMpeg, but since it is a Flask derivative, I can guess that its Deinterlacing quality is no good (and neither is 4.12's deinterlacer).

What you should do is to use a better method of encoding. This is necessary because, in addition to better quality, you cannot properly deinterlace with either Flask or XMPEG (presumably). This method from Doom9 should help you a lot, though you will need to do some extensive reading on the guide first. Alternatively, you can use GordianKnot, though I still recommend you to read the above link to better understand how GK works (so you need not keep on asking questions here and end up waiting for an answer that may never come anyway).
