Compress an iso to fit on a Disc

Sorry, was not sure of where to post this.

I have an .iso file of a movie that is 4.872gb and can't think of a program to use to make it fit on a DVD (blank). It's a little too big to fit on a DVD. Is there anything out ther that I can use to fit this onto a DVD?

Why not just burn it to a blank DVD-9 (8.5gb) DVD+R DL at the current size it is now, compression just makes the picture get bad.

Max size for a DVD-5 (4.7gb)
Max size for a DVD-9 (8.5gb)

Use Imgburn latest version is by far the best burning software tool

It's almost big enough to fit. I'd use any of the popular transcoding solutions. Unfortunately we are precluded by rule 19 to discuss the most popular one, but there are others such as DVD2One and DVD Rebuilder Free.

You could try Nero Recode, which is almost the same as that program we can't talk about.

If you don't have Nero, they offer free trials at the official site.

You should be able to use a Dual Layer DVD+R DL as stated earlier. Once you put the blank DVD+R DL into your burner, whatever software you are using to burn the .iso image files should no longer give you any warning and you should be able to proceed with the burn. If you re-compress, you will be degrading the quality of the video.

Just make sure you spend the $ to get a good dual layer burnable. These discs can be iffy if you get the cheapos.

I've never had a problem with quality when re-compressing a DVD, with the you-know-what we are not allowed to talk about. Maybe I'm lucky. If its only a small mark up like lemonyx's problem, I re-compress. Instead of Open Files, go to File, Open Disc Image, and do it again from there.

Anything bigger, I remove the other languages that I don't need.
