Hi All,
Searching the internet for a new video capture system has not proven to be as easy as i thought it might be.
Here is the problem:
How do you record a 30 second to 2 minute event with up to 4 different cameras directly to the computer producing an easily distributable AVI(mpg, whatever)?
The Current Solution:
Use 4 Canon GL2 cameras to record to miniDV tapes. Take the miniDV tapes to our DV Storm editing station. Capture the video. Trim the video, adding a title frame. Convert the video to a distributable AVI.
The Future Solution:
We’d like to find a system/method for capturing all 4 cameras directly to the computer, possibly using a trigger signal to start/stop the recording. I am pretty knowledgeable as far as programming languages and such, and would have no issues with building on something that already exists, but as far as what equipment to use to capture or connect the cameras, I have no idea where to start. If anyone could point me in the right direction, whether it be to a site/company with good hardware/software solutions that would be great. If not, thanks for your time anyways.
