interlace or progressive, which is best?

Starting a new project with a question. Final output is SD-DVD but acquisition is HD, Shoot 60i or 30p. Any thoughts?

I am bias towards progressive.

But still hard to see a difference between broadcast 1080i and a DVD (std or hi def) at 1080p
