    Pioneer DVD Players

Does anyone have a Pioneer DVD player? If anyone does, do you have problems with it due to playback? What I mean is, some home-movies either break-up and they play fine in other DVD machines, they can play with no sound in the Pioneer DVD player and they have sound in the other DVD machines and I've had the same break-ups with pre-recorded DVD's in the Pioneer DVD player. I know, my DVD player might need repairs but it's odd why the same happens in my Dad's DVD player that is also made by Pioneer with the same DVD's. Pioneer made laser disc players that can fail to play laser discs where the players have to go in for repairs a lot and the message U1 kept appearing on the screen as well as other messages but I forgot those ones. Messages never appear with the Pioneer DVD players, the discs just either break-up or play with no sound.

I bought THE FRENCH CONNECTION years ago that I had to get exchanged back then because everytime a new chapter started after Popeye Doyle shot the French killer down the railway stairs, the sound cut out and I had to keep turning the film off during every playback in the same scene and I had to resume the playback under Resume and the sound was there. That happened in my Dad's Pioneer DVD player as well and my exchanged copy did the same again in mine and my Dad's. The same happened with FRIDAY THE 13TH PART II in one scene.

Pioneer is getting on my nerves. I bought a copy of RAMBO on NTSC and the Special Features break-up but the film played fine. I can only play the DVD in my Pioneer DVD player because that is the only DVD machine that I have that's a Multi-Region DVD player. I used the words "DVD player" and "DVD machine" now and then because I have two DVD recorders and three DVD players. I've tried other DVD machines elsewhere and things were fine (except, RAMBO, THE FRENCH CONNECTION and FRIDAY THE 13TH PART II couldn't be tested in most of the other DVD machines because most of mine and the others elsewhere are Region 2 only). The problems I get with the same DVD's in my Pioneer act the same in my Dad's Pioneer DVD player. I can't see his suffering the same fault as mine at the same time through wear and tear. It's also odd why the same DVD's act the same in the wrong way.

    Any help, please?

    Many thanks.
