Can't NERO copy from DVD to video file on hard drive?

Hello. I got an external Super Multi DVD Rewriter that came with Nero, Cyberlink DVD Suite, etc. I can copy a DVD from the ROM to the external rewriter using Nero, but cannot copy a DVD from the rewriter to my hard drive. Why is that? When I click on "copy DVD," it only gives me the E: and F: drives as locations to copy to, without the hard drive as an option I can browse to. I am hoping to copy my kids' ballgame video files to the computer for storage and editing.

Thanks to Les, I do have img burn and the VLC player that work, which enables me to do it, but if I can do everything with one software, no need to take up so much memory with multiple applications.

Nero has an image recorder but you don't want images

    Just use windows

I tried to last night and the windows menu gave me no option of copying the e: drive to the hard drive. I'll just use img burn, no big deal.

OK. I was able to copy the videos via windows onto the hard drive (desktop) in .VOB format, which works with my Cyberlink DVD Suite. Now I just need to tinker with that to figure out how to make a highlight video from a dozen or so football games. Much appreciated!

For moving or copying a file from one window to another

have both windows open, right click an empty spot on the task bar, tile windows vertically
