Making pics from digital vid saved on SD

Hi folks! I just bought a digital video cam that records onto a SD card. I can view these movies on my xp and vista puters, but dear wife would like to make a snapshot pic out of the movie clip. I have saved the files to pc, but am looking for a free program to make a pic out of movie clip. Is there such a program? Seems basic to me, but have not been able to locate such a program. The one that came with the cam is only to edit the movie, not produce a picture.

You can do this with Media Player Classic. Found HERE (Freeware)

When you are playing back your clip pause what you what to get an image of.

Then go to File/Save image and title as you wish,
