Need advice on how to accomplish something simple

I've got 22 MPEG files captured from a Video 8 video camera on my
computer. I want to split them into clips, trim the clips and then
save each clip to the computer as a seperate file. Is this possible?
    What software will do it?

I tried Cyberlink PowerDirector and I could do everything EXCEPT save
the cleaned up clips to individual files. Microsoft Movie Maker can't
output MPEG and the file when saved to computer is very bad quality
    compared to the original.

Thanks for any help & advice you can offer.

I would suggest womble mpeg video wizard dvd.

It can split, trim your video, and you can save each clip to the computer as a seperate file using the trim manager. The most important thing is womble will not re-encode your video if you just cut, trim it.

      highly recommend!
