    Chrome and Firefox

It came to my attention that if you’re using explorer than in Google page Chrome advertisement appears. But if you’re using Firefox, no advertisement. Is Google supporting Firefox and open source? If so, why have they developed Google Chrome?

Maybe it's that IE supports ActiveX so they may be able to tell for sure it's Internet Explorer and not some other browser using an "identify as" option. They probably do a QueryInterface() call to the browser and only IE will have the function. Other browsers that don't do ActiveX aren't going to use ActiveX just to pretend to be IE(unless they use the IE ActiveX browser control itself, like Maxthon.)

So it's more likely they are targeting IE rather than supporting anything else.
