How can I apply subtitle to an MPEG-2 file?

Can anyone tell me how to apply subtitle to an mpeg-2 file?

please its urgent!

If there isn't a solution, can anyone tell me how can I take a DVD disc that I bought from abroad in a forgian language andtake a subtitle, in my native language (SRT file) that I created, and apply it to the dvd disc or to the movie file itself while still kipping the quality and the format of the DVD intact.

My purpose is to watch the movie as it is but add to it my subtitle... how can I do it?
