How to accelerat video voice?

I have wrote a video eidting program, and I want to accelerate the video, but the voice can not be accelerated, I have tried to mimic the voice, but it works not well, does any one has suggestions?

if you demux your streams, you can use a prog (eg. soundforge, but there's sure to be freeware out there somewhere) to speed-up the audio (then, re-mux them).
i know for a fact that the old soundforge did this (pitch), but sadly, it's not a freeware prog.

You could try audacity. It mentions speed in the effects menu. (It's one of those apps I always seem to have installed but not do much with. Haven't gotten into the audio part of things that much yet.)
